Several prototype InnovaGen® fuel processors were delivered to UltraCell, LLC for integration into its fuel cell power system for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The power system, known as RIPPED (Renewable Integrated Propulsion Power Electricity & Distribution) is designed to produce an all-electric hybrid powered UAV. InnovaTek’s technology permits the operation of the fuel cell using logistical fuels by producing hydrogen from fuel through a catalytic process. Development of the power system is being supported by the U.S. Air Force because they require UAVs with longer endurance times than the capability of current technology to complete missions. In this stage of the project UltraCell will test the power system in the fuselage of a UAV.
